Financial issues

The tuition fee for the semester of studies should be paid in one month from the start of the semester (Autumn semester starts begining of September, spring semester starts at the begining of February), using the requisites provided below. Use the student database to know exact ammount of fee.


For Master students: International transfer for Masters

In case of the failure to pass a particular course, students must retake the course in one year, for retaking the course students must pay additionally.

 

  • Scholarships for Full-time master students

Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania takes pleasure in offering Lithuanian state scholarships for full-time Master degree studies for nationals of Republic of Belarus, Republic of Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Ukraine, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Uzbekistan and People's Republic of China as well as for foreign citizens of the Lithuanian descent to study in Lithuanian higher education institutions. For more information please go hereEvery semester Vilnius University offers scholarships for 5 best international master students at Vilnius University, which fully or partially cover the tuition fee for one semester (starting with the second semester of studies). Eligible students are non-EU and non-European Economic Area citizens who do not have additional scholarships from other exchange programmes or foreign funds. In order to apply students must write a motivation letter and send it to VU international office () before the end of the semester. Students are nominated for the scholarship based on their last semester grade average.

  • Vilnius University scholarships for foreign students

Each semester (starting with the second semester of studies) Vilnius University provides 5 scholarships for international master level students, which fully or partially cover the tuition fee for one semester  and can  be extended for one year if the student maintains highest study results. Eligible students are non-EU and non-European Economic Area citizens who do not have additional scholarships from other exchange programmes or foreign funds. Students are nominated for the scholarship based on their first semester grade average.

  • Lithuanian state scholarships programme

This programme is designed for the advanced students, lecturers or researchers of foreign higher education and research institutions to enable them to study or carry out research at higher education and research institutions of the Republic of Lithuania. Students, lecturers and researchers from different fields of studies or research are welcome to apply for Lithuanian state scholarships. More information about the scholarships could be found here.

  • Foreign Lithuanians and emigrants

Expatriate Lithuanians and emigrants (emigrants’ children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren who have lived abroad more than for three years and started to study at least in the ninth form after coming to Lithuania) could receive a state scholarship or social allowance.  For more information click here.
